Liam Spencer is a fictional graphic symbol The Bold and the Beautiful, an American soap opera on the CBS network, played by Scott Clifton. He made his first appearance during the episode broadcast on July 19, 2010. Introduced as the long-lost son of business tycoon Bill Spencer Jr., he is recognized for his love triangle with Steffy Forrester and Hope Logan.

Clifton'south operation in the office has been met with favorable reception from audiences and critics, having garnered him the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series in 2011. He received two Daytime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2022 and 2015, winning the category in 2013. In 2017, he won in the Outstanding Atomic number 82 Actor in a Drama Serial category.

Cosmos and casting [edit]

On May 21, 2010, Dan J Kroll from Soapcentral.com reported that actor Scott Clifton had joined the cast of The Assuming and the Beautiful in the newly created function of Liam Cooper.[1] Clifton was cast ii months later leaving rival soap opera Ane Life to Live.[1] The role player was initially unaware of who the character was when he auditioned for the part.[ii] On his showtime twenty-four hours on set up, Clifton was told that his character would be called Liam. He then met with the executive producer Bradley Bell, who told him well-nigh Liam'southward backstory and that he would be Bill Spencer, Jr.'s (Don Diamont) long-lost son, which is why they decided to name him Liam, short for William.[2] Clifton kept the data to himself, until information technology was revealed in the scripts.[2] He filmed his first scenes on May 25, and fabricated his screen debut as Liam on July 19, 2010.[i]

Yet, Clifton has praised the storyline and dedicated the pick of who ultimately became Liam's father, Nib Spencer, Jr., portrayed by Don Diamont. Both Nib Spencer, Jr. (Don Diamont) and Thorne Forrester (Winsor Harmon) are revealed to have dated Kelly and could exist Liam'south father. While they wait for DNA results, Liam and Thorne form a bail. Liam learns Bill is his father and with Hope and Katie Logan'due south (Heather Tom) encouragement, they start to bail. Hope and Liam begin dating. Bister Moore (Adrienne Frantz) convinces Liam that they had sex and she is carrying his child. Information technology soon emerges that Amber's mother, Tawny (Andrea Evans), faked the paternity test results.

Liam saves Steffy from drowning and they share a kiss. However, Liam does not reciprocate Steffy'south feelings fully and he proposes to Hope. Hope asks Liam to wait earlier they are married to complete their relationship considering of her article of clothing line. During this time Liam and Steffy become friends and Liam develops feelings for her. Hope catches them kissing and ends the engagement. While Liam, Promise and Steffy are skiing in Aspen, Promise, who is under the influence of anti-feet medication, collides with Steffy. She apologises and continues down the mount even though Steffy is injured. Liam finds Steffy and goes with her to the hospital. Liam confronts Hope about the collision. He becomes concerned nearly Hope, simply she tells Liam to go back to Steffy at the infirmary. Steffy gives Liam the signed annulment papers, but Liam rips them up and they kiss. Neb urges Liam to break up with Hope. Brooke learns Liam ripped upwards the papers, merely he asks her to keep information technology to herself. Liam and Hope go to Italian republic to marry, but Promise is late to the ceremony, causing Liam to recall that she has walked out on him. They later on larn that their matrimony is not valid in the U.s..

When Hope discovers Liam kissed Steffy on their wedding solar day, she refuses to take their spousal relationship validated and insists on a 2nd wedding. She ends their relationship when Liam arrives to the ceremony drunkard on the back of Steffy's motorcycle. Liam and Steffy get dorsum together, and she becomes meaning. Steffy suffers a miscarriage later an accident while riding her motorbike and moves to Paris. Liam resumes his romance with Promise. Liam discovers Wyatt was behind a diamond heist at HFTF, and exposes him, only Wyatt is given some other chance since the heist gave Forrester more than publicity.

Liam tells Hope to date both him and Wyatt, and so choose between them. When Promise learns that Quinn was partially responsible for Ridge's disappearance, she breaks up with Wyatt and accepts Liam's proposal. Quinn tries to harm Liam and Wyatt helps save him. Their relationship improves, and Liam and Hope requite Wyatt his job dorsum. Liam befriends the newly arrived Ivy Forrester (Ashleigh Brewer). Wyatt is left the HFTF diamond past Ricardo Montemayor and he gifts it to Hope. Liam asks Hope to return the diamond, but when Wyatt sets up a press briefing and publicly gifts the diamond to Promise, she accepts it. Wyatt and Rick take the diamond on a promotion tour, starting in Paris. Promise invites Liam to meet her there and marry her. Ivy and Aly (Ashlyn Pearce) convince Liam to come across Hope. When Ivy falls into the Seine, Liam jumps in to save her and misses his meeting with Hope. Nib tells Liam that Hope married Wyatt. Liam tells Promise the truth about existence in Paris, but she does not leave Wyatt. Ivy and Liam kiss, simply he notwithstanding has feelings for Hope.

When Liam learns Quinn followed him and Ivy to Paris, and pushed Ivy in the Seine, he tells Promise and asks her to leave Wyatt. She refuses as she is meaning. Liam and Ivy'southward relationship progresses. Promise suffers a miscarriage and leaves for Italian republic, after maxim farewell to Liam.

Liam eventually goes to see Steffy to talk one night and finds her comatose in bed with Wyatt. In the following days, Liam is mad at Steffy and is done with her, although she doesn't understand why and Liam never tells her that he saw her in bed with Wyatt. Liam resigns from Forrester Creations and as he is well-nigh to leave, he is confronted by Quinn and passes out due to concussion symptoms he sustained on the plane ride with Ivy he took when the aeroplane hit turbulence and he hit his head, knocking him out. Quinn takes Liam to a cabin to take care of him only for Liam to wake up with no retentiveness. Over time Liam and Quinn end up loving each other while Liam is nether the impression Quinn is his wife named "Eve" and his proper name is "Adam." Eventually, Liam's retention is triggered by Wyatt, whom is now married to Steffy, after he gets suspicious of his female parent'south new found happiness and goes to the cabin simply to find Liam has been there the whole time missing. Liam tries to regain his human relationship with Steffy after getting his memory back, but she stays married to Wyatt. Eventually her marriage to Wyatt breaks downward considering of Quinn marrying Eric and she rekindles her dear and human relationship with Liam in consequence. Liam proposes to Steffy and she accepts, and subsequently her divorce from Wyatt was finalized, Steffy and Liam get married in Sydney, Australia.

Liam and Steffy's marriage is annulled when Liam discovers that Steffy slept with Neb when he finds a paternity certificate examination in her purse. Liam pursues and agrees to marry Hope again when he believes Steffy and Bill are having an affair and that it was not a one time error. The nuptials, however, never happens as Wyatt reveals to Liam at the last 2nd the affair was a ruse ready by Bill and that Steffy was but unfaithful that one time. After boot Bill out of her home, Steffy falls and goes into labor. Steffy presently gives birth to Liam'southward girl, Kelly named after his deceased mother. Liam after this, returns to Steffy. Nonetheless, Hope finds out she's pregnant and Liam gets caught in the FC dressing room with Hope past Steffy. Steffy chooses herself over Liam and he turns to Hope. Liam then marries Hope and starts a new life with her but Hope has it annulled when baby Beth is believed dead. She then marries Thomas to enhance Douglas with him.

For his portrayal of Liam, Clifton won the Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Serial honor at the 38th Daytime Emmy Awards in 2011.[4] At the 40th Daytime Emmy Awards in 2013, Clifton won the Outstanding Supporting Player in a Drama Series, along with histrion Billy Miller from The Immature and the Restless.[5] Clifton was nominated in the same category at the 41st and 42nd Daytime Emmy Awards in 2022 and 2022 respectively.[6] [7] In 2017, Clifton earned a nomination for Outstanding Lead Role player in a Drama Series at the 44th Daytime Emmy Awards.[eight]

During a characteristic on what storylines were working and not working for the prove, a Lather World reporter quipped, "apologies to Squad Liam fans, but he's such a wimp who wants to possess Promise despite his endlessly grating protestations of love for her. Quinn's correct, he's a boy, not a homo!"[9] Helen Vnuk of TV Week included Liam in her feature on lather heroes, and she stated, "Ok, then Liam didn't save Ivy from an inferno or psycho killer.
